Setting a Trailing Stop Order in MetaTrader 5 (MT5) allows you to automatically adjust your stop loss as the market moves in your favor, helping to secure profits.
On Android/iOS:
β
βTrailing stops are not available directly in the MT5 mobile app. To use a trailing stop on mobile, you need to manage it via an Expert Advisor (EA) or set it from the desktop platform.
On Windows/Mac:
β
Open MetaTrader 5 on your computer.
Go to the Terminal window and open the Trade tab to view your open positions.
Right-click on the position you want to set a trailing stop for.
From the context menu, select Trailing Stop, then choose a preset value or select Custom to enter your own.
The trailing stop will now be active and will adjust automatically as the price moves in your favor.
Tip: If you mainly trade from mobile but want trailing stops, you can configure them on desktop or with an EA, and they will remain active on the server as long as MT5 is running.
