If MT5 platform settings, preferences, or profiles are not saving and MT5 only loads with default settings, it may be due to a corrupt terminal folder. Traders can typically resolve this issue in one of two ways:
1. Reinstall MT5 platform settings:
• Uninstall the MT5 platform and reinstall it. The download link can be found in the email sent upon creating the trading account. It is also available in the MT5 download section of the FNmarkets Client Portal.
2. Rename terminal.ini File:
• Close the MT5 platform and navigate to the 'Configurations' folder.
• Locate the file named "terminal.ini" and rename it "terminal.old".
• Restart the MT5 application. This will create a new "terminal.ini" file, restoring the setting MT5.
