How to Download Trading Report from MT5?

📌 Why is the Trading Report Important?

Your MT5 trading report is a complete summary of your trading activity. It helps you:

  • Track your profits and losses

  • Review your trading performance

  • See all your trades with Order IDs, entry, and exit details

  • Share your trading history when required (for verification or evaluation)

👉 In simple terms: this report shows everything you did on your trading account in one file.



To download the Trading Report from MT5, follow these steps:

🖥️ Step 1: Open MT5

  • Open your MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform

  • Make sure you are logged in to your account


📊 Step 2: Open the Toolbox

  • Look at the bottom of the screen

  • Find the panel called “Toolbox”

  • If you don’t see it, press:
    👉 Ctrl + T


📜 Step 3: Click on “History”

  • Inside the Toolbox, click on “History”

  • You will now see your completed trades list


📅 Step 4: Select the Time Period

  • Right-click anywhere inside the trade list

  • Choose one option:

    • All History → shows all trades

    • Last 3 Months → recent trades

    • Custom Period → choose specific dates (recommended)

👉 Tip: Always choose Custom Period if you were given a specific date range


💾 Step 5: Generate & Download the Report

  • Right-click again inside the trade list

  • Click on “Report” → then choose one of the formats:

📄 Available Formats:

  • Open XML (MS Office Excel 2007)
    → Opens your report in Excel (.xml format)
    → Best for data analysis and calculations

  • HTML (Internet Explorer)
    → Opens your report in a web browser (.html format)
    → Best for viewing and sharing ✅

👉 Recommended: Use HTML if you need to submit or share the report


📂 Step 6: Open Your Report

  • After selecting the format, the report will open automatically

  • You can then:

    • Save it on your computer

    • Share it if needed


✅ What You Will See in the Report

Your report will include:

  • All trades with Order IDs

  • Entry and exit prices

  • Profit and loss details

  • Account balance summary

  • Performance statistics


⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • ❌ Not selecting the correct date range

  • ❌ Sending the wrong format (when a specific one is required)

  • ❌ Missing trades due to wrong filter selection
