What is FNmarkets Unlimited Dynamic Leverage?
Unlimited Dynamic Leverage is a system that helps you use less money (margin) for small trades, but requires more money for bigger trades.
👉 Think of it like this:
If your trade is small, you get more leverage
If your trade becomes big, the leverage reduces to keep things safe
📌 Important Risk Notice
Leverage can increase both profit and loss
“Unlimited” does NOT mean:
No margin needed
Unlimited trade size
Guaranteed trade execution
Protection from losses or stop-out
❓ How Does It Work?
Your trade is split into tiers
Each tier gets a different leverage level
The system does this automatically (you don’t need to change anything)
👉 Final margin = sum of all parts
📊 Example 1: Simple Trade (EURUSD – 3 Lots)
Imagine your trade is divided like this:
Part of Trade
| Leverage
| Margin
|
First 0.50 lot
| Unlimited
| Close to $0
|
Next 1.50 lots
| 1:2000
| $82.50
|
Last 1.00 lot
| 1:1000
| $110.00
|
👉 Total margin = small amounts + system-calculated part
📊 Example 2: Adding More to a Trade
You already have 0.40 lots open
You add 0.30 lots more
Now:
Only 0.10 lot gets Unlimited
Remaining 0.20 lots get lower leverage
👉 Important: Your trade does not restart from the beginning
📊 Example 3: Gold Trade (XAUUSD – 2 Lots)
Part of Trade
| Leverage
| Margin
|
First 0.10 lot
| Unlimited
| Close to $0
|
Next 0.90 lot
| 1:2000
| $148.50
|
Last 1.00 lot
| 1:1000
| $330.00
|
👉 Bigger trades = more margin required
⚠️ Special Case: Friday (Higher Margin Time)
During market closing time (Friday):
Leverage is reduced for safety
You need more margin
Example:
Trade
| Leverage
| Margin
|
3 lots EURUSD
| 1:200
| $1,650
|
👉 Same trade = much higher margin on Friday

❓ Common Questions
Does every new trade start from the beginning?
No. The system checks your existing trades first
Can leverage be different from my account leverage?
Yes. It depends on:
Trade size
Market conditions
Risk rules
Asset Class
What happens if I close part of my trade?
Your margin is recalculated
You may get some margin back
Can trades be rejected?
Yes, if you don’t have enough margin
Does higher leverage increase profit?
No. Profit depends on price movement, not leverage
What are Friday-close higher-margin conditions?
Liquidity can reduce, and price gaps can occur around the weekly market close and reopen.
To manage this risk, FNmarkets applies temporary Friday-close leverage caps to selected products.
👉 For affected trades:
The applied leverage will be the lower of:
Normal dynamic leverage, or
Friday-close cap
If your trade is already using lower leverage, it will remain unchanged
When do Friday-close conditions apply?
Usually starts ~1 hour before market closes on Friday
Ends ~1 hour after market reopens
👉 However, timing may vary depending on:
Instrument type
Daylight saving changes
Holidays
Market conditions
FNmarkets may start, extend, or reapply these conditions if needed.
Do Friday-close conditions affect existing positions?
These conditions mainly apply to:
New trades opened during the window
Additional exposure added during the window
Trades opened before the window usually keep their original leverage (unless stated otherwise by FNmarkets)
👉 You can still:
Close trades
Reduce positions
(as long as market conditions allow normal execution)
What if the normal tier is already lower than the Friday cap?
The lower normal leverage will continue to apply.
For example, TRY pairs are normally limited to 1:5 leverage. Even if the Friday cap for Forex Majors is 1:200, this will not increase the leverage for TRY pairs or change the existing 1:5 requirement.
👉 In simple terms:
The system always applies the lower leverage, not the higher one.
What happens around public holidays or early market closes?
The higher-margin window may start earlier or remain active for longer during:
Public holidays
Early market closures
Periods of reduced liquidity
👉 This means you may experience higher margin requirements for a longer duration than usual.
Traders are advised to always check:
Trading hours notices
Live Contract Specifications
to stay updated on any changes.
Is Unlimited Dynamic Leverage available to every trader?
No. It depends on factors such as account type, platform, instrument, eligibility, regulations, and risk controls.
👉 The published leverage is the maximum possible, not guaranteed for every account or trade.
Can FNmarkets change leverage tiers or higher-margin conditions?
Yes. FNmarkets may update leverage tiers, margin requirements, instruments, and eligibility based on market, liquidity, regulatory, or risk conditions. Traders should always review the latest leverage tables, Contract Specifications, and trading-hour notices before trading.
💡 Final Summary
Small trades → Less margin needed
Big trades → More margin needed
System adjusts automatically
